Welcome to the website for Tawstock, a peaceful village located within the parish of the same name beside the picturesque Taw valley in North Devon, England.

The village lies near the centre of Tawstock Parish which encompasses outlying rural villages and the newer urban areas of Sticklepath and parts of Roundswell on the edge of the ancient borough town of Barnstaple. While the population of the village is relatively small, the census of 2011 recorded 2105 residents of the parish as a whole.

Tawstock is surrounded clockwise from the north by the parishes of Barnstaple, Bishop's Tawton, Atherington, Yarnscombe, Horwood, Lovacott, Newton Tracey and Fremington.

Farming was once the mainstay of the parish which is still occupied by large expanses of fields and woodland. Today, though, its residents find employment across a wide range of sectors with agriculture accounting for just 4% of these occupations.
